✈️For Flights✈️

  • Skyscanner: When it comes to flight apps, Skyscanner is a must-have. One of my favorite features is the “Everywhere” option, allowing you to leave your destination open and discover the best deals to various locations. It’s perfect for spontaneous travelers looking to explore new places without breaking the bank. Start your next adventure with Skyscanner and let your wanderlust take the lead!
  • Hopper: Hopper is another favorite of mine for flight planning. After using Skyscanner to decide where I want to go, Hopper helps me track the lowest prices and alerts me when it’s the best time to buy. It’s a fantastic tool for ensuring you get the best deals on your flights, making travel planning both smart and budget-friendly.

🛏️For Accommodations🛏️

  • Hostelworld✨: Hostelworld is my go-to for accommodations, whether I’m seeking a bed in a dorm or a private room. I love the social atmosphere they provide, and there’s truly a hostel for everyone—from boutique and party hostels to all-female options, catering to every budget. Just remember to do your research: prioritize safety first, and amenities second, and enjoy happy travels!
  • Booking.com: Booking.com is a reliable platform where hotels truly reign, though some hostels do appear. It offers a fantastic points program, flexible pay-later options, and often provides free cancellation policies. Whether planning a last-minute getaway or a well-planned vacation, Booking.com ensures convenience and peace of mind.
  • Workaway✨: Looking for free accommodations? Workaway might be just what you need. It offers the chance to exchange your time and skills for room and board. For example, if you’re interested in learning French, you could work as an English tour guide at a vineyard over the summer, trading your time for a new language experience. Opportunities like these exist worldwide. I spent four months with a host family in Madrid, simply conversing in English (my native language) with them. In return, I received room and board and gained new friends with my host parents.

📸For SightSeeing📸

  • Viator✨: I turn to Viator for almost every trip, booking a wide range of tours that never disappoint. Their vast selection and consistently high quality make planning easy and enjoyable. By reading reviews and doing a little research, I’ve loved every outing, making Viator an indispensable part of my travel toolkit.
  • Get Your Guide: While I haven’t used Get Your Guide as extensively, it’s a valuable addition to your tour booking repertoire. It offers a solid selection of tours, making it a good alternative for planning your sightseeing adventures.
  • GuruWalk: Another tour booking app to have in your back pocket is GuruWalk. It offers engaging walking tours led by passionate local guides, perfect for exploring new destinations on foot. Discover unique experiences that fit any budget and uncover the stories that make each city special!

🚌🚆🚗For Getting Around/Transit🚗🚆🚌

  • Moovit: I often find myself choosing Moovit over Google Maps for its real-time transit updates and reliable directions. Moovit is my go-to app for staying informed about local transportation, like buses and trains. Its user-friendly interface and comprehensive coverage make it an essential tool for any traveler aiming to explore efficiently and on a budget.
  • Omio: Omio is my all-in-one app for booking trains, buses, and flights across Europe, but it’s especially invaluable for train travel. It simplifies the planning process by comparing various transportation options, ensuring I find the best deals and routes. With its easy-to-use platform, Omio makes exploring new destinations seamless and budget-friendly.
  • Trainline: Trainline is my other go-to app for booking train tickets across Europe. I typically compare options between Omio and Trainline to ensure I get the best deal. With its intuitive interface, Trainline makes it easy to plan my journeys and enjoy the scenic train rides Europe is known for.
